Too much plastic on England’s beaches

Posted by Stuart Graham | Bristol, England

I recently heard on BBC news that in 2015 there was a huge increase in the amount of rubbish along the UK seaside. Given how much plastic I see near our local beaches and rivers I believe it. Not only does this make the seaside look dirty, but I know that ocean animals often eat this plastic, including fish. I don’t like the idea of there being plastic in the fish my family eats. Is there a way to stop all of this plastic from going into our oceans? I’m sure some of the plastic bottles I see are washing into the ocean via rivers. Maybe there is a way to capture those bottles before they actually get out to sea?
