Humpback whales off California are entangled in crab pot lines, critically endangered North Atlantic right whales die off the eastern sea board of the US and Canada in lobster pot and snow crab lines, so if we designed a pot that could be lifted without leaving a vertical line in eth water for days, fishermen could make a living, whales would not suffer, and we could eat delicious sea food
